What are some good condiioning exercises, etc to lose weight and firm up your body?

Well, given your profile stats of 6'2" 262 lbs, I'd start with push-aways.

I Did this recently 10kg weighted vest 50m sprints in water
Wear red, find bull, release bull, run. Repeat for as many reps as necessary.
