Going to Canada for Holiday. Advice?

^ I’ve walked by Blowfish a few thousand times but never have eaten there.

be careful of the potash.

apparently its a big deal there for somefuckingreason~

While you’re there, go find Kanada and punch him in the face for starting that genetics thread.

Toronto is a great tourist destination I guess. CN Tower, Jays game, bunch of parks and shit. the Royal Ontario Museum, Steamwhistle brewery or mill st. Head south to Niagra Falls; always stuff to do there. Casino, strip club (highly recommend sundowners…best strip club in Canada bar none from my experience (been to plenty in Niagra, Toronto and Montreal). Montreal is also a great city to party in. Never been out west but have been wanting to go for a long time. We have GOOD weed unlike 3/4 of the USA. Don’t know how to compare it to the land down under though.

Hope you have fun! A weirdo country choice to visit though IMO…so many more places that I’d see before Canada lol.

PS if you can, get someone to take you to a cottage in Muskoka or the like… probably the best thing to do in Canada.

They’re also implementing something pretty cool at the CN Tower called the Edgewalk. They strap you on to the edge and you get to walk all the way around, I think it’s a guided tour. I’m guessing they point shit out in the view.

Apparently there’s an hour training session prior and the experience lasts 30min. It’s pretty pricey though @ $175/person

IMO I don’t think Toronto is much of a tourist destination, there are much better places in Canada to go tourism wise. It’s one of those city’s that’s great to live in more than anything.

It’s good for nightlife and restaurants and the fact it’s relatively close to NYC, Niagara Falls, Montreal and Ottawa.

If you end up on the East Coast, Halifax has a festival of some sort almost every week in the summer. Great night life, diverse foods, lots of history. I do believe you’d have to venture to other parts of Nova Scotia for mining, google “Joggings, Nova Scotia”

Also, you’d be able to visit “The Store” referenced in the “Tales of a Supplement Store Employee” thread…something that should be on every members bucket list.

Nothing beats Montreal: best looking women, crazy nightlife and strip clubs, historical city, museums and monuments to visit, some of the best food you can find on earth (don’t try poutine though!) it’s got it all. And yeah, as Edgy said: go wherever French Canadian women are. Just believe me

And Postholedigger, it’s actually spelled tuque

Whatever you do, DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT go to Ottawa. That place is so boring, I’d rather go ice fishing than be there for vacation. If not for my cousins being there, I would only stop to get some food before I cross over to Montreal, cause I wouldn’t be able to order food there. Stupid french.

Punch Kanada in the face for me.

Can’t order food in English in Montreal? You mustn’t have been there for a while then…

Awesome, thanks for the help everybody

I’m flying in and out of Vancouver so that is my first destination. The info provided here should easily keep me busy over my trip, thoroughly looking forward to it!

lol at Rico Suave saying its a weirdo destination for a holiday, reminds me of when people come here to look at some boring shit. I guess I’m used to that because I live here, it is novelty for others though.

therajraj, I will hit you up for some Toronto bars and clubs, because I’m definitely heading there!

If anybody else has anything else to input please chime in

If you’re sticking to the west and need a break after some time in Vancouver, hop the ferry and head out to Vancouver Island. More laid back, but it’s one of my favorite places. Spend a little time hanging out in Victoria and then over to Tofino.

You could fly from the island to Calgary or you could take the ferry back, rent a car and drive. Driving through there. Hit Kelowna (don’t waste your time at Cheetahs - strip club), maybe Nelson and then on to Banff and Canmore. Banff is ok, but I prefer Canmore. Do some mountain biking and then head out to the pubs in the evening. Calgary Stampede starts July 8th and is about the best time of year to be there. You can check out the rodeo part, or just do what most do and party your ass off.

Heading east Saskatchewan has some great lakes, especially in the north, if you’re into fishing, canoeing, etc. The July 1st weekend is a long weekend and lakes are a great place to spend Canada day. I’m from Western Canada, so can’t say much about the east other than you must go to Montreal. Some of the finest creatures on the planet live there and Quebecois women are seriously sexy.

You have to check out Vancouver Island. The pacific west coast is a must-see for sure. If you like to hike and have the time, check out the west coast trail.
As many have mentioned, Montreal is an amazing city. However, it there is a great lack of men with a decent ass living here. If you have a nice butt, you will be welcomed.

I heard that.

So are you going the shock and awe route or the Mexican way (tip toe past the mounties while they’re not looking)?

Fuck yeah go through the Canadian wilderness while you’re here, the mossy forests around Van are like a dream man. It’s a beautiful wet green world here in BC. And ya there’s good weed and strong local beer haha

I’m going to Canada in approx 3 weeks time for a holiday for 5 weeks.

What’s good to see, places, advice for travelling, things to do etc? I’ll be there from early June til mid July, planning on traversing most of the country, might not go up north though, sounds pretty cold! I don’t have a tight budget so no need to penny pinch.

Any help from people who’ve been or Canadians would be awesome. I’m a 23 y/o Australian male, into cool people, nice scenery, partying, good food, chicks, smoking weed etc. Canada looks like it can provide on all these fronts hence the reason I chose it (planning to go to US next year.)

Also, does anybody know some towns or cities that are heavily involved in mining? I work in mining over here, its a massive industry and would like to see what it’s like in another country.

Any help would be most appreciated, cheers!

As someone who lives in Victoria (previously in Vancouver), I’d avoid Van all together unless you want to go shopping and head to Victoria. If you like “weed”, you can walk down and score as much as you want right outside City Hall. But be warned, the “weed” you’re used to, is about a fraction of the potency of the stuff we have.

Lots to do in Victoria… Lots of cool stuff to see, tours to take, etc… If you decide on Victoria, let me know and I’ll suggest a few good places to eat, drink, meet some women, etc.

I’d recommend spending a couple days here and then head up island, for a destination called Parksville. You want to hit the beach in Parksville and ideally grab a hotel right on it… They have a cool new place called the “beach club” or something like that… A tad expensive of a hotel, but it’s a 5 star resort with lots of partying going on. So it’s kinda like going to Florida on Spring Break, as you have some amazingly hot women that are barely dressed.

From Parksville, zip over to Long Beach (a 1/2 day drive) and hang out, surf, etc.

Leave Parsville and head up island for Campbell River. You’ll wanna take in some hard core salmon fishing here, as some the biggest fish you’ll ever catch are caught off of here.

Back down island, you can catch a ferry to Vancouver from Nanaimo.

Again, I’m not a fan of Vancouver - lots of gangs, guns, and violence. Only thing good about the place is the food and shopping.
