God-Awful Songs You Love

Hi, I’m Kuz and I cannot seem to get enough of the Avril Lavigne song “Girlfriend”.

Despite the risk of plummeting T levels, I listen to it every time it comes on the radio. It’s awful. I know it’s awful… but sweet mother of God, I still listen to it and like it.

That video should burn my eyes, yet… I watch it like I’m in a catatonic trance. Sad… so very sad.

Seriously, I should have my membership to T-Nation revoked… except deep down in places of yourself you don’t talk about at cocktail parties… you know you too have a similar cross to bear… a song of utter shame.

Free yourselves, people!

NOTE: I would like to caveat that this potentially horrible thread idea might be the result of too little sleep and thinking it up after indoor soccer followed by heavy lifting. That’s my defense and I’m sticking to it.

I love Avril.

I felt the same way about Madonna’s “Hung Up”.

I know there are others, but I can’t think of them right now.

Yeah, another vote for that song, and avrils songs in general.

I know, guys. Sorry.

I feel such a weight lifted off of my chest. Thank you Kuz.

I keep hearing this one by Natasha Bedingfield and admit I like it.

Damn… I like that one too. Maybe it’s a trend…

I agree that there is something that catches my attention every time it comes on the radio or the tv. There is some sort of energy to it. Also
I’ve got a bit of respect for Avril seeing she performed Fuel at the Metallica MTV Icon Show.

One song that I definetly won’t give the above kudos for is that new Timberlake song “What goes around” or whatever. I can’t get it off the channel quick enough.

Shit, I feel the same way when I here that song, makes me wanna cry because I know I should hate it.

But hey, it’s 1 in a million.

walks away in shame

Be free, my brother. Bear not that load any more.

Hmm… must admit some growing concern over the fact that I’ve liked every song mentioned.

Man of War I demand to know who that is in your avatar.

Dude, you are freaking me out. I just commented on his avatar in the Mountain Man thread.

That delightful creature is Carmen Luvana, porn star extraordinaire. I highly recommend all of her work… err… not that I know anything about that sort of thing.

Hahaha, I loved that song when it came out, then I tried explaining it to one of my co-workers, how it’s like a “feel-good” song, and I was going to go on about how happy it made me, then I started to listen to how gay I was sounding, and that no-one would understand me.

Her next song about not needing a man, or some woman-power thing kind of ruined this song for me for some reason.

(just looked it up, it’s called “Single”)

And explaining songs to co-workers made me remember another one:

Bad Day.

Thankfully, I’m not working at the same place as where I was feeling the need to talk about the less-than-macho songs I like.

Haha. Kuz you’re spot on there. Carmen Luvana.

I’ve been known to stand around at work singin’ less-than-manly songs while makin’ the food. Probably the worst…
Amerie

I’m such a bitch for this. She fine as hell though

Try to understand…try to understa-uh-and…try, try, try to understand…He’s a Magic Man…

I’ve been known to like some really crappy songs, so I was sympathetic.

I hadn’t heard the song, so I clicked on that youtube link.

…damn, Kuz. You got it bad, haha!

That song was terrible!

Now there’s nothing with song.

I’ll look any man in the eye and say I like Magic Man.

(Minus that really strange solo right in the middle of the song.)

I know, I know! It’s a song that sounds like it was meant for a cheerleading competition.

My .02: That’s the biggest churro/phallus replacement I’ve ever seen in that video and; sooo hot - want to touch the hiney.
