Anyone ever torn or severly strained a glute??? I deadlifted heavy last week (heavy for me, anyway) and the next day my left ass cheek was noticeably tight. It’s been sore ever since. Not my lower back, not my right glute, not my left hammy…my left fucking glute! It’s pissing me off. Squatted this morning and needless to say, it wasn’t very pleasant.
It sounds like you probably strained your glute, It would be much more painful if you actually tore it. But even still Glutes are such a big thick muscle there is likely alot of trauma there that needs repair, I would stop doing any knee or hip dominant movements immediatley give it rest let it recover.
Muscles are muscles no matter where they are, even in the ass…they can be pulled or strained just like any other muscle, it just sucks 'cause of where it is…
Strained glutes aren’t that common. I’d be more inclined to think that it was an issue with your piriformis.
