Started using a gym which had a GHR machine.
Embarrasingly enough I feel that I can't perform the movement correctly.
Would appreciate it if anyone could give me feedback on what I'm doing, if I'm doing it wrong and how I can fix it

didn't watch the whole video but the first two minutes does a great job of explaining the ghr.
in short, you're doing it wrong. you are basically doing a back extension. You have no extension at your knee. Basically instead of breaking at the hips you want your knees to extend and then contract the hamstrings to return to the starting position.
I knew I was making a total arse out of it
