Glucosamine Inhibiting Fat Loss?

hey, has anyone here experienced problems losing bodyfat while using glucosamine? i know there is some talk about it decreasing insulin sensitivity, but i didn’t think it would have much (if any) affect on my cutting. however, i recently dropped it and it has been much easier to cut. i have noticed this in the past, as well…it does work well for my joints, but, for whatever reason, prevents some of my gains in muscle and fat loss…

Bro, I am using it right now in combination w/ chondroiton and am actually dropping fat at the same rate if not a little quicker…I am not even cutting right now, I’ve just cleaned up my diet and it’s coming off nicely…so for me at least it’s not a factor.

i was taking 4 caps of Knox “NutraJoint” per day…which is 1500 mg/glucosamine, 1200 mg chondroiten, 500 mg/ MSM and 2,00 mg/gelatin.

every time i’ve taken glucosamine it does work to make my joints feel better (usually in about 2 weeks), but my gains, from either muscle growth or fat los slow to a halt.

Interesting. I’ve heard about it affecting fat loss and to a lesser extent muscle gain. I haven’t had any noticeable issues. I’m a former endurance athlete and was quite lean. I haven’t got close to shredded since I started lifting seriously but I haven’t tried. Still, getting between 9-10% bf at 5’7, around 175 has not been a problem. I take glucosamine chondroiton religiously. Not sure if it will be an issue once I’ve put on more size and if I try to get really lean again. But I think the joint benefits are worth it even if it is. I have problems without it.
