Gloves and Straps

y wdnt u want calluses???

Im a rower as well as a lifter, I can stab at my hand with sharp knives and not go through without some decent force, plus, I ca hold alot of hot things, whats not to lose with calluses?

I mean sure… its a painful process to get them.

I remember doing rowing…ouch, I did it all wrong and ripped up my hands…

Does anyone else find that gloves make you weaker? I deadlift less with glove than without, in the same way I deadlift more in socks than in shoes…

I love my callouses - I feed and tend them every day. Seriously, though, they are just another reminder that I’ve done work.

As for straps, I use wrist wraps on pressing days or days I handle big weight. I broke my left hook of hamate (a bone in the hand) in the gym and needed the straps for stability. I don’t think I’d use other kinds of straps otherwise, personally.

To me, they’re like glasses – use them if you need them; that said, do wrist exercises to create stability.

shoes make you move the bar slightly longer and gloves make your grip weak

if your going to use gloves find verry thin ones that are verry verry tight

Maybe he doesn’t want calluses because the calluses chafe him somewhere else…

not that any of us care. He should still toughen his grip and stop whining.
