Hey question about that law passed a year ago in CA making it illegal for giftcards to expire which were made on jan 1, 2004 and post. The question is, is it legal for giftcards to be flat out closed/canceled due to its age made prior to jan 1, 2004. I read a line from a conusmer report that stated “Under preexisting California law, gift certificates may not expire.” But when I tried to use my card, I was not allowed to (BlockBuster,) any information would be excellent.
