Damn, I think I’ll be having pancakes in the morning. So tasty…fluffy…delicious…begging to be eaten and savored…savored with the honey cream syrup that I somehow found tucked away in a store…mmmmmmmmm

Ok, so I go to the store today and on the way out there’s thick chick waiting in the foyer on a cell phone with those just after pedicure flip-flops on. A cab pulls up she gets in it. I’m sure you can see where I’m goin’ with this.WTF!!
Why in hell would someone who can’t even afford a car be spending money on a cab to get their nails done???
What? Do you know her personally? Do you know her finances?
Not long ago, I went a couple years without a car. Not because I couldn’t afford one. Because I just didn’t want or need one at the time. I lived near my job and near downtown. I took cabs and public transportation all the time. If I needed a vehicle, I rented a car.
I wonder if you would have judged me the same way as I left the barber shop and got into a cab.

Pedicure = $10 - $20
Car = $1000 - $1.4 million
I dont get it.
According to the wife’s freind who gets a pedicure every week at $25. In Fort Campbell KY (where I live) the cabs have a minimum fee $5 so she probably spent $10 on the cab ride, each way. She probably spent at least $35 (not including tip) a week on getting her toenails done (add more for fingernails).
I also didnt mention that the phone she was on looked like one with all the fancy new gadgets. I’m sure she could have saved a little buy getting a cheaper one. Add this all together and you probably have enough for a payment on a decent used car. I also have to admit that I see alot of new young soldiers wasting money on stuff that they cant afford like $2000 rims and brand name clothes.
Eventually they wind up using payday loans, not because they don’t make enough but because they just don’t know how to handle their money. Then they vote…

Pancakes are just so much more moist and delicious.
Waffles at Waffle House kick ass, though.
Anybody wanna post some protein pancake recipes?
I take Aunt Jemima whole grain mix, except swap half of it for vanilla Metabolic Drive. Use whole milk as you normally would and replace the oil with sugar-free apple sauce. Add in some cinnamon and you have apple-cinnamon pancakes that are high in protein in pretty low in sugar.
I always make these on the late night when my roomates and I are fiending for diner food or some kind of junk snack. Still plenty high in carbs and calories, but with all the protein it’s good as long as you aren’t cutting I think.
