How do you know the reason that she took a cab?
Maybe she doesn’t own a car because she can’t drive or doesn’t like to drive. Maybe she owns a car, but it is being fixed. Maybe she had been drinking (many salons offer wine) and decided to be responsible and not drive. Maybe she lent her car to someone.
Why should you care what someone chooses to spend their money on? Unless maybe if they are on welfare, but how would you know that?

I use the same pair of flip-flops for pedicures that I wear in the gym shower.
So, maybe she was just in a public shower and forgot to pack her regular shoes. (I’ve done that before, it totally sucks!)
