GF & Cat Problem

Looking for some input here.

My GF has been living with me for the past 2-2.5 months.
Everything is perfect, cept for one thing. Her cat!

Since December it’s peed on my bed 3 times (the latest being today), and a spare room’s bed twice.

To me, a pet that can’t be house broken isn’t worth keeping. She loves the cat obviously.
I told her just last week when the cat peed on another bed (let alone mine), if it does it again, it’d have to go.

I didn’t get mad today like I normally do, as I think I’ve had enough of the cat and just want to make a rational decision.

She has about 2 weeks left on her apartment lease, after that she’s waiting for another apartment to become available that she put a deposit on (could be as early as mid-July, but possibly a little longer.

I don’t want to make her get rid of the cat if she will have a place of her own in a month (but if it’s longer I can’t put up with this cat).

What would you do?

We have no problems in our relationship cept for this (and who knows how it would effect us, then again she should have some respect for my stuff).

A. tell her either that cat goes or she has to go back to her apt (then she won’t have a place to stay come July), not really an option I don’t think
B. keep the cat in a bedroom that has no furniture (at my place, did this once before, but she kept saying “oh she won’t do it”)

any other suggestions?

I can’t stand sleeping in a room that has the slightest of cat pee smell

A couple of suggestions, feel free to try one or all of them:

  1. Keep the doors to your bedroom and other rooms closed.

  2. Lock the cat in one of those carry box things 24/7.

  3. Piss in the cat’s bed.

  4. Piss on the cat.

  5. Next time it pisses in your bed, soak the mess up with your girlfriend’s pillow and blame the cat. She’ll quickly realise just how annoying it is…

Why would you put up with this after the first time? FFS man this is your place not hers if she can’t respect you now what the fuck do you think it is gonna be like down the road? Put the cat in the cage 24/7 all they do is sleep anyways.

The cat knows you hate it and doesn’t like that you’re banging its mom.

lol, I’ll take 4 and 5

I put up with the cat because I know how much she loves it, but that’s quickly fading for me.

I’m thinking of not letting it out of the one room

Designate a single room in the place just for the cat and don’t let him out unsupervised. That’s HIS room from now on. Just be sure to remove carpets, low-hanging curtains etc.

How’d you get that bad cat piss smell outta your mattress? I’d have to throw the damned thing out. Cat piss is one of the worst smelling things on the planet.

Cats just plain SUCK, and were not meant for men to possess.

a shitload of febreeze

Read Dr. Laura’s Proper Care and Feeing of Husbands. There’s a whole thing in there about a dame and her cat and how fucked up the dame was. You’ll read the whole book in like an hour. If your gf sounds like tha crazy broad in the book, send her to another apartment…

Cats are rather clean animals and do not like being around their own urine or feces, if the cat is pissing on the bed then it likely has a urinary infection or some other medical issue.

I have had cat’s all of my life, I have never had a cat that was untrainable to use the box, sure accidents happen when cats get locked in rooms for long periods of time.

If the cat keeps it up lock the fugger out on the patio/porch in his box when your GF isn’t playing with him.

I have seen a cat piss in someones shoe, I know this was malicious on the cats part as it was only one person who this had happened to several times. My guess is he kicked the cat or something and pissed it off.

Tell your gf to clean the litter box more often – everyday if necessary.

she cleans it frequently, there’s just something wrong with the cat.
It’s a year old and spayed.

She just texted me, “I’m not giving her up, but it’s not fair to you that my responsibilities are misbehaving”

Time to introduce fluffy to the beauty of the great outdoors.

Some cats will defecate and urinate on things as a way to “punish” their owners for things they don’t like. For instance: changing to a different type of litter, moving into a new place, moving the litter box, being gone more than normal, strangers in the house, having a dirty litter box, etc.

It is a behavioral problem that can be fixed with proper training. Talk to a vet to rule out any underlying health issues and then seek out a behavioral specialist for ideas on how to train the cat out of the bad habit of peeing on the bed or any where outside of the litter box.

Cats are hellspawn.

Kill the damn thing, before it kills you.

On second thought, no, keep the cat alive, and do what threewhitelights suggested.

Then kill it.

The cat hates you, and is trying to mark his territory with his pee. I had a cat once that used to pee in Yo Daddy’s shoes. One day when I came home from work, Yo Daddy said he got loose and ran away.

Have you ever read ‘The Black Cat’ by Poe? Be careful how you handle this, it may end with an axe in your girl’s brain.

And get a dog, you woman. A big dog that will rape then eat the cat.

I have a Great Dane thanks

Why hasn’t he ravaged and consumed the feline menace?
