I read a sticky somewhere (which I missed before) that says not to post workout routines, and a bunch of other stuff I had in this post before. I’ve stopped over-thinking. Now I just want to know a few things.
a) How many sets and reps should I do?
I’m doing 3x12 at the moment; some people have told me to do 5x5, others 3x(8-10).
b) It’d be nice to have some targets. What weights are good to be lifting for my stats?
c) The fitness instructor (the guy who gave me a routine to follow for the next 8 weeks, not a personal trainer) didn’t tell me to do squats or deadlifts, I’m assuming that’s because I’m new to weightlifting. Should I just do them anyway?
d) I’ve seen some people say never go to failure; others say do. For my goals, which is better? To go to failure, or stop a couple of reps before?
e) Will using a kettlebell hold me back as far as size gains go? If so, a lot? I’m thinking it might be able to keep me lean and strong, since, like everyone, I want to put on as little fat as possible - I hate cardio with a passion, so I don’t want to be in a long ass cutting phase.
