I have done several powerlifting competitions, but after losing my last one because I pulled my hammy I took a two year break. I had been doing more circuit and functional training since. I had been going back and forth if I want to go back to PL, and I have finally decided to get back into it. I’m super excited to lift some heavy weight again.
At my peak I was pulling 550 lbs sumo style. After a couple weeks I have gotten back to 455. It feels amazing. I do a basic 4 sets of 6x1x6x1 protocol with the Powerlifts and 3 sets of 8 of ancillary lifts. You don’t realize how strong you are until you lose it. So my question is, is there anything better than lifting heavy weight?
