This is a pretty obscure question, it’s a long shot but maybe someone on here knows the answer. The Gold Miners index, the GDX shows a yeild of 8.8%. I saw this and was skeptical, so I checked the yield on some of the bigger gold miners like ABX and those companies sure weren’t contributing to such a high yield, so now I’m even more skeptical. Does anyone know what’s going on with it?
GDX - the ETF? It paid a $.75 dividend last year, and is currently a $34.00 stock.
Google Finance has the yield at 2.19%, which is what I figured using the last divi/share price.
That seems more likely. I don’t know why Big Charts shows 8.8. I wonder where they draw their numbers.
