Something has been bugging me. I have a 1994 acrua integra GSR with a turbo. I’ve dyno’d it and it makes over 300hp off the engine. That is great and all, here is the kicker. I still average 32 MPG with city and highway driving. This is a 2800lb car with 300hp. What is wrong with car manufacturers that they can’t seem to do better than 12yr old technology? Most of the new crop gets in the low 30’s, but only have 120hp if you’re lucky.
My car drives like normal, I’ve put 30-40k miles on it since the turbo, it has 183k total with no problems. So I know it is not a reliability issue.
Any thoughts? Is it oil companies pushing their power around?
