Gaining Too Much Weight in the Gut?

#1

Ive been gaining great, both strength and mass. The problem is maybe i have been eating too much because im starting to get a gut. My diet is fine i usually have 3 eggs(hardboiled or scrambled) with fruit and oatmeal for breakfast. 2 turkey wraps with vegetables inbetween breakfast and dinner along with protein shakes. For dinner ill usually eat white meats(chicken mostly...not fried) with rice/a vegetable and bread(often white).

Ive gained about 15 pounds in the past two weeks eating like this, im at about 180 pounds 5'7".

Mon:
Flat - 12/10/8/6 incresing 5lbs each set
Incline - 12/10/8/6 incresing 5lbs each set
Flys - 4x10
Skull Crushers - 4x10
Pulldowns - 4x10

Tue:
Bent Row - 12/10/8/6 incresing 5lbs each set
Reverse Grip Row - 4x10
Straight arm pulldown - 4x10
One arm pulldown - 4x10
Reverse Grip pulldown - 4x10

Wed:
[Clean & Press - 12/10/8/6 incresing 5lbs each]
OR
[Press - 12/10/8/6 incresing 5lbs each
Upright Row - 4x10]

Lateral Raise - 4x10
Front Raise - 4x10
Shrugs - 4x10

REST

Fri:
Squat OR DL - 12/10/8/6 incresing 5lbs each
Lunges - 4x10
RDL/Good Mornings - 4x10
Calf Raises - 4x10

Now I dont think my routine is too messed up because its working, ive gained noticeable amount of muscle. My goal is mass but the gut is making me think something isnt right probably with nutrition. Do you think I should add cardio?

The reason im ranting is because im in the military, currently deployed. Its rough to get the food i would be suggested to eat and my appearence is part of my discipline. My gut is just noticeable now but its gonna huge compared to what it was---any ideas to cut it/stabilize it while continuing gains?

I’ve noticed this as well, I don’t know what you got but me it seems to be a small oval shaped football at around the belly button, all else is flat. It’s almost as if I’m carrying a small football right behind the belly button.

It’s hard to say how much weight is too much, but I’d say 15 pounds in two weeks is too much. Most say 0.5 pounds/week - 2 pounds/week should be the most… others say don’t limit yourself to a number like that or you’ll never reach full potential, but 15 pounds in two weeks is a lot man…

I’d say lower the food intake a bit, I don’t wanna say aim for 2 pounds/week or anything like that but enough so that you’re still gaining solidly without much noticeable fat gain.

15LBS IN TWO WEEKS IS TOO MUCH (SORRY FOR THE CAPS) FOR IT TO ALL GO TOWARDS THE ‘RIGHT’ PLACES.

I WOULD THINK A POUND OR TWO (MAYBE 3 IF YOUR A NEWBIE) WOULD BE SEMI-EXPECTABLE…WITHOUT GAINING TOO MUCH FAT.

INCREASE YOUR ACTIVITY
OR
DECREASE YOUR CALORIC INTAKE
OR
FIND A MIDDLE GROUND

GOOD LUCK!
