Fundamentals of Strength Training

Dr. Darden, I’ve listed what I believe in as my fundamental high intensity strength training and sports nutrition principles. Thoughts, comments, observations?

  1. Train hard in order to move from a position of statis or status quo

  2. Hard training requires brevity and recovery

  3. Recovery requires water, carbohydrates and sleep

  4. Any movement in the gym must be safe (which means non ballistic) and replicate the function of a muscle as much as possible

  5. More muscle means more physicality as one ages

  6. More muscle requires more fuel (food) to retain it on the body

An excellent group of training guidelines. It’s obvious you’re been in the game for many, many years. Thank you.
