I think there are many different ways to achieve what you’re looking for. If I had to give you advice, and the option of training with a successful lifter isn’t an option, I would do what I originally recommended, pick a prewritten program and do that.
I have done the Upper/Lower routine that Chris linked and fully recommend it.
Start doing that immediately and you should start getting stronger and gaining some muscle provided you eat in a caloric surplus.
