Fudging the Numbers, Again?

An Associated Press review of the latest stimulus reports–which the White House promised would undergo extensive reviews to ensure accuracy–found that more than two-thirds of 14,506 jobs credited to the recovery act under spending by just one federal office were overstated because they counted pay increases for existing workers as jobs saved.

The inflated job count is at least partly the product of the administration instructing local community agencies that received money to count the raises as jobs saved

It’s time to stop defending this crap, Obamaniacs.

Yes but if you use the inflated figures and then, as Biden suggested, throw in some more for ones that aren’t so obvious, thus achieving an Administration-recommended total of one million jobs saved or created, it works out to a mere $160K per job.

What a bargain, I tell you!

But…but…you’re the government! You can’t possibly lie to we the people !

Oh no! Right-wingers can’t stand cooked data!

Any comments about that data?

Course not, it’s those pesky Right-Wingers. The data could not possibly be the culprit.

What? You guys didn’t know that 1+1= 1,000,000!

The guy doing the counting is the same one who counted heads for the million man march…

‘Lessee, one, two, three, four, aw fuck, I’m bored, let’s call it a million’
