Found a couple great ones online. Download them for free. How the fuck they got there I don’t know but I had a huge hard on when I found them.
Streetfighting- America’s martial Art by george Carpenter. Basic boxing moves, other dirty ass tricks, mostly techniques. Guy must have been in a biker gang in the 60s, so it’s got some color in it. But lot of good shit, a good basic manual.
This is one the finest treatises on Escape and evasion I’ve ever read. Basic shit, how to ditch cars chasing you, precautions to take before entering a shitty area, etc. Whole thing, top to bottom, great fuckin book and a strong read.

I tell you what, that’s probably the most realistic manual on fighting I’ve seen yet. It says learn how to punch, get big and strong, and use dirty ass tricks… like I said, you can tell this dude was in a biker gang. Simple but very effective.
I agree; and the his ‘A Word about the Critics’ section on page 60-61 put a huge grin across my face - seems we’re dealing with the exact same bullshit on muscle and strength now as they were in 1979.

That was the REALLY funny part to me. In his lifting section, dude admits that bodybuilders are strong, and stronger than most other athletes, but still said that people should life with high weight for fewer reps for strength.
He also talks about the benefits of adding protein to a diet, and that squats, deadlifts, and bench are the big 3.
I was laughing… that was 30 years ago, and people still haven’t learned, but he got it right.
Funny that dude talking about how this shit be good if he was 13 again.
The other day I had to spend some time in the hood for one of the stories I was writing… and I mean, the fucking hood. I wasn’t looking for trouble- I was working, but down there you don’t have to be looking for trouble. All that knowledge I’ve gained from books like these, comes in handy when you find yourself in some bad places.
Two hours after I left the place I was, a guy got shot there in retaliation for a gang killing the day before. So don’t tell me how only teenagers can use this shit…
Great find, dug the streetfighting manual by Carpenter - no bullshit, straight to the point and effective. Quite a while back I remember you (fightinirish) posting a link to some hand to hand combat manuals from WWII. Do you still got those? I seem to have lost the link.
