Do they not understand the wrong mushroom will easily kill?

Actually, they did appear to know that.

They started out as an ID page, but got pissy and arrogant because “noobs” kept posting pics for id. Then they started really being pricks about it which devolved into intentionally misidentifying them.

Once they did that and were laughing about it they were reported and the page/group wiped.

Why not just grow some ?

Eh. I’ve had both. The ones grown in a media like that are just kinda missing something. Especially oysters, as they like to grow on really sugary sweet woods like ashe, beech and maple.

I actually find oysters with my nose long before I ever see them because they have such a powerfully sweet floral fragrance. You know when you’re within 50 feet of them.

Logs can be inoculated with their spores though, and some people really do like those.

Others just can’t be cultivated very well.

Not once has the thought ever crossed my mind to go out pluck some fungus off a log in Texas and eat it. Nope! I just like Emmy and I thought it was funny that it popped up

It does take a different kind of person to do that. :grinning:

If we were way back when, you could hang out with me just to see what happens. “If he lives, we have new food. If not, we have to find someone else to forage.”.

:rofl::rofl: We have a plant here called poke…Old people love poke salad. It’s toxic. You literally have to cook it three times. I have always wondered who ate it the third time and survived after the first two didn’t…Hold beer…

P.S. I don’t eat that shit either.

Smoked, roasted branzino

@SkyzykS i was getting jealous of your shrooms and only had sad store bought baby Bellas in the fridge so I threw them in the “smoker”. Turned out amazing!

I bet that has a lot of flavor! The shrooms will soak up the smokiness really well.

I used to stuff baby and medium bellas with sage sausage and top with some shredded smoked gouda. Those were the bomb!

Also, did these between posts-

I’ve been making these pocket buns because I don’t like leaky sandwiches. The tri-lobed ones are just for general purpose.

I’m also trying to get that fancy artisinal look with the dusty tops. So now I have options. Shiny golden brown, dusty artsy, or just regular baked finish.

My gradma used to make massive pocket steam buns. A favourite breakfast of mine would be to stuff those with leftover spicy stir-fried pork belly, pickled mustard greens, an over easy egg and bacon

Derp!

Would have been fine with just one egg, but I had to make it two. With some Swiss.

Hazards of cooking when hungry. Almost as dangerous as grocery shopping.

Learned what chilaquiles were the other day, so I tried a lazy version for breakfast (using bagged tortilla chips and jarred salsa). Came out really tasty, if I say so myself.

I can definitely see playing around with it since it’s supposed to be super-versatile, like adding meats instead of eggs for a dinner version.
