Kangaroo steaks (loin and fillet) are awesome. Unfortunately, the mince which I use (so much cheaper) is a fair bit gamier. To be honest, it’s pretty unpleasant without half a bucket of spices.

Alas, I need red meat and Kangaroo is cheap as chips

Far out america is cheap. Even our regular beef mince is more expensive here in Aus :sadpanda:

Where’s the best place to buy bread? Whole Foods has some solid bread. Their “San Francisco Sour Dough” bread is my favorite, man it’s good. Here’s some “Spent Grain Hearth Bread” and two avocados chilling on the side, in some dramatic lighting.

Going to have milk, bread, and avocados later.

Here is one of the tri-tips after hitting it with the Searzall. It was cooked for 12hrs @ 130F.

Tonight’s prep-work: pastured local-pork, a shoulder steak and a leg steak. 36hrs @ 149.

ill post pics when I sear/slice. Fat cap on this stuff is ridiculous. Melts like ice-cream. This is almost the last of the half hog I bought in June. I’ll be picking up another in the next week, and will post pics of the 2.5" rib chops

Hey man, lately - not much at all. Maybe a nice, enormous hamburger or steak every 2-3 weeks. I eat chicken or eggs more often, maybe 2-3x/week. I’ve tried to cut out meat/poultry AND milk several times but I can’t do it, I eventually get very weak. I think I can handle cutting out meat/poultry as long as i’m getting in milk.

Personally, I try to eat less animal products now. So right now i’m on mostly veggies & fruit, with some milk every day, and some bread/chicken/eggs throughout the week.

Also, now that i’m primarily running, I have to be more careful with what I eat. Things like meat, nuts, peanut butter etc, weigh heavy in my stomach and can make me feel worse when I run, or even seem to cause me to cramp. So I have to be a bit more careful about the timing of those foods if I do choose to eat them.

Felt like including a food photo in this post! The local farmer’s market has some very nice ribs & brisket every Sunday, sometimes I hit them up:

So simple but so ridiculously good. Just 4 eggs sunny side up, with salt/black pepper on them, an avocado, and some green tea in some dramatic lighting (lol).

I just purchased a tiny pan to make tiny meals. This is garlic & shredded carrots saute in olive oil, then placed atop avocados (2) with salt & pepper. Also had some bread & green tea with it.

I feel like a chef, lulz.

Putting in work with my tiny pan. This was really good. Fried bananas & fried avocados in olive oil & coconut water, with salt/pepper.

I might make one egg in it tomorrow for fun, lmfao. Or not though, I think I want to make this toast with an egg in the middle that my aunt makes me sometimes. So for that i’d need to use my big stir fry pan. It’s basically, cut a hole out of the middle of some bread, then drop the uncooked egg in there, and cook the egg/bread together. It’s good af. Might make 2 of those tomorrow.

Reply to: adarqui Egg-in-the-holes, aka one-eyes-jacks. I recommended putting a tab of butter in the hole prior to dropping your egg in. Throw a lid on it if you want your whites cooked-through without risking burning the eggs. My wife prefers her “hole-bread” plain and untoasted, I prefer it toasted in the oil that’s left in the pan after the egg cooks. Post pics of your results!

One of my fatboy foods is a grilled ham and cheese sandwich on 2 “slices” of egg-in-the-hole.

I’m off to a bday party; I’ll post pics of the papa murphys pizza spread :+1:t3:

There are probably a few other names for it too…Never heard that one, but I like it! Out of curiosity where are you located? One-eyed-jacks is an eastern seaboard name, egg-in-the-holes is what they call me down south. Thanks.

Oh, and you use a shot glass to make the hole.

First time eating pizza in 2+ years. It was one of my best mate’s bday, and I didn’t want to be “that jerk”. Did a bit of research prior to the party and scaled it into my nutrition plan. Only had one slice; it was pretty good. Even better than the pizza: waking up today knowing that my willpower is stronger than ever. I was helping the hostess clean up at the end of the party and I stopped her from throwing out 3/4s of that bowl of kale salad. I put a hurtin on the salad, and genuinely enjoyed it more than the pizza. Mission Reprogram-cravings is officially a success.

Oh, and before you ask, no Fkin cake and ice cream… What am I, 5? :smirk:

Picked this yesterday. Its going to have to wait in the fridge, but I think there’s a beef and barley soup in my future. (grifola frondosa/maitake/sheeps head)

I lost a couple to a bear (again), and another couple of really big ones that already expired, but it looks like its going to be a good year for them.

bro. This came out ridiculous. Thanks for the advice & giving me the heads up on the name, or as it turns out, one of MANY names haha. It was a good starting point for me to search. I hadn’t seen this until this year when my Aunt made it for me, and she didn’t have a name for it either. Apparently there’s all kinds of names: “One eyed jack’s”, “One eyed willie’s”, “peekaboo toast”, “popeye’s”, “hole in the bread” (lmfao).

Since I don’t have butter, I used olive oil. I heated up the olive oil until it was real hot, then put the bread on the pan, then cracked the eggs into the bread. Let it cook for a bit, did a few flips, and boom, done. Just went by feel.

I used a bottle cap to make the hole, haha. Came out “perfect”.

So this is two “one eyed jack’s” using San Francisco Sourdough bread from Whole Foods (it’s ridiculous, try it if you have one nearby), two large brown (free-range) eggs, and some overly sauteed avocados in olive oil. Also had some black tea with it.

Really enjoyed this… already thinking of variations to it, like putting some roasted garlic in the bread-hole before dropping the egg in etc, stuff like that…
