What is this?

#784

Cochinita Pibil Torta. It’s a Mexican sandwich with braised pork, pickled onions, Mexican cheese, and roasted habanero salsa. I’ve had a few Tortas in my day, but this one was tops.

#785

Burrito. Guessing 1,350 calories.

#786

Halloween dinner. My girlfriend is crazy, I know :relieved:

Polenta with mushrooms

Potato Pizza

Pizza Parigina

Tortillas and guacamole

Trofie al pesto

“tombstone kinder cereali cake”

Caprese (almond and dark chocolate cake)

Salty cheesecake

Best halloween dinner ever!

#787

I must find this now.

Also, awesome bump!

#788

Giant burrito packed with 300g rice 200g chicken and some tikka sauce

Around a little over 1000 cals with 64g protein, easier to just munch on it all day at college, I eat 2 of them a day lol.

#789

Probably the most amazing chicken I’ve ever had. Not even joking.

#790

Pork chops in an iron skillet. I hate iron skillets.

#791

What is the supposed advantage of an iron skillet anyway? @FatKidfromFL you probably know

#792

I believe it’s because the heat is disbursed evenly.

#793

what is wrong with you

#794

…?

#795

disburse

/dɪsˈbəːs/

verb

past tense: disbursed ; past participle: disbursed

  1. pay out (money from a fund).

“$67 million of the pledged aid had already been disbursed”

synonyms: pay out, lay out, spend, expend, dole out, hand out, part with, donate, give; More

#796

Oh, I don’t English too good I guess.

#797

Don’t worry; you’re fantastic in lots of other ways

#798

Costco mesquite wings

#799

Don’t be such a homophone.

dis·perse

/dəˈspərs/

verb

distribute or spread over a wide area.

“storms can disperse seeds via high altitudes”

synonyms: scatter, disseminate, distribute, spread, broadcast

“seeds dispersed by birds”

But yeah, cast iron is pretty versatile since it can go from stove-top straight into the oven or double as a roasting pan (for a whole chicken or whatnot), but they can be a pain to clean. Like, there are actual rules to cleaning it. Hand-wash/scrub, no soap, etc.

#800

and not to mention the “seasoning” aspect/coating with oil. Makes some amazing steaks if done right but not worth the effort for me

#801

I know what disperse means and I know you know I know!

The oven thing is a good point, but is a regular non-stick pan really so bad?

#802

For sure. I just saw the setup for the homophone bit and couldn’t resist.

Not so bad, unless your Mrs. has a thing about the dangers of chemicals so you use cast iron because… “healthier, chemical-free alternative”. Anyhow, we use a steel ice cube tray for similar reasons.
