Espresso porn! All of these were pulled on my new espresso setup. All manual. Totally portable. Pulls better shots than any machine I’ve owned (including PID’d heat exchange units). So easy to transport that it went in my carry-on bag for the flight out to OR.

Bespoken roasters, Corvallis OR, El Guachepelin Costa Rica.

10 days or 10 mins?
I’ll be in PDX for 11 more days if you are going to be around.

Never tried forecast; I’ll keep my eye out for beans.

My favs from Pdx are heart, coava, and Sterling.
Pics to follow

10 minutes. I’m in Corvallis. I assumed that’s where you were?

Mine too! Sterling is a gem. Used to be in the corner of a building on 21st. Add Water Ave and Speia to that list. Unlike most, I can’t stand Stumptown.

I’ll let you know. Shoot me an email at dchris.tnation@gmail.com.

Actually I picked up the bespoken at a shop in sellwood called either/or. Undercover excellence at its finest.

Sterling has a special place in my heart. Prior to being in the bar-spot on 21st, they were in an alcove next to the trader joes (prior to the TJs expansion. I used to buy thier coffee that was roasted on a 1lb San Franciscan “profile-roaster” in the food-cart thing that they were set up in. They were selling one lb + jars for $12… Crazy that they were charging less than $1/minute, considering that they could only roast 1lb at a time, which takes 12 mins per batch!

I used to live in a bunch of different apartments around sterling; that Is such an amazing neighborhood.

I’ll hit you up!

That’s right! I forgot about that.

This is one of my favorite districts. My dad grew up not far from there, and we would venture down there after Portland Beaver games.

Last nights dinner - Bone marrow and a Rob Roy, with Laogroaig as the scotch.

Nope, not in Italy; Portland, OR. I agree that nduja is amazing! This restaurant discovered it and has been using it in dishes for the past few months… So delicious! They made a sauce for pasta from nduja and it was one of the most incredible pasta dishes I’ve ever eaten!

Sorry for all the crappy low-light, cellphone, pics… Here are some legit food photos I took this weekend for a client:

What is this?

Cochinita Pibil Torta. It’s a Mexican sandwich with braised pork, pickled onions, Mexican cheese, and roasted habanero salsa. I’ve had a few Tortas in my day, but this one was tops.
