Found a couple of new morel patches, but I have to figure out pics from this tablet.
Currently trying to decide if this morel flavored coffee I made is awesome or not too smart use of a rare ingredient. Leaning toward both. At least it isn’t civet poop.
i’m currently cutting and into my fourth week, so to make the weekly deficit a little bigger without impacting my training i decided to lower carbs some more on off days.
this was one of these “low” days, as the only carb source i had were these smashed potatoes (30 g carbs) and 50 g (uncooked) of rice at lunch.
this is A TREAT: it tasted heavenly and definitely doesn’t make me feel like i’m dieting!
i eat this salmon pretty much everyday, but i usually have it with rice. i can’t tell you guys how good it tastes when coupled with smashed potatoes!
all of this also took about 10 minutes to prep. definitely not some high-end, chef-level cuisine, but the taste was by every means awesome.
Slight food porn … best black beans i’ve ever had. I’m not a huge black bean fan, I enjoy them but i’m not amazed by them. These beans are MINDBLOWING. Also, Churrasco.
I’m dreaming of going back just for a huge order of black beans and rice, that’s how good it was.
Salad at some new restaurant in Boca (True Food Kitchen). Small portion size, but lots of flavors, really well done. Grilled chicken, asparagus, peas, watercress, almonds, some other stuff, and goat cheese.
You can get Starbucks’ Yukon (only organic if grind yourself cuz contamination) which is a medium/dark roast, and grind your own beans. It tastes like Sumatra. The darker the roast, the less caffeine. Plus you can always get a my k-cups, so you have a reusable k-cup for your own freshly ground coffee. I love my Keurig because my hubby only drinks one mug, and I don’t drink coffee.
Should have some good eats coming soon. @FatKidfromFL Have any good simple tips or tricks that can be done with morels? I’m thinking a nice alfredo, chicken & mushroom gravy and the like. My skills aren’t very sophisticated.
Extra credit to the kiddo. He’ll do a 6-8 mile hike through hills and hollows, all the while just playing with rocks and chasing birds.
I haven’t. I’m pretty careful to look closely before I reach.(the wifey got a false strike from a copperhead some years back) It does occur sparsely in the same environment, but doesn’t thrive under the canopies where I find these. Just a little sprig here and there. I’ve gotten much more allergic over the years and wouldn’t pick if they were in a poison ivy patch.
