My god that sounds amazing

Beef, resting and waiting for its side. I usually have a much crustier finish by using butter. This time, I had the butcher trim me some fat cut offs. Rendered them down and then fried the meat in that . Doesn’t look as nice but tastes incredible (and I love butter).

I will use a mix of the fat and butter next time for the best of both worlds.

Boring sides added, meat cooked just as I like it - plenty of juices to drown the vegetables in (If the meat looks smaler its because I may have eaten a chunk of meat between cutting and taking the photo)

Turkey stew with home made bone broth stock. Veggies and almond/tapioca flour dumplings. It’s been so long since I got dumplings. Delicious.

Why not ribeye?

Diced chicken breast, spinach/kale mix, and sun-dried tomatoes, with fresh homemade chicken stock and pasta water as a pan sauce. Served over spaghetti.

The brand of sun-dried tomatoes I usually get decided to change their method, so now they’re already slivered instead of basically whole slices like they used to do. I prefer having the option to slice them myself or keep them whole, so I’m a little bummed out. #FirstWorldProblems.

So today I sold my business of 8 years. Time to celebrate!

Chuck roast with basmati, glazed carrots, Brussels, and “million-dollar sauce”.

cote de ventoux (red wine) and a vintage 2005 grande cru champagne (blanc de blancs) that I have been saving for a special occasion.

Desert (not pictured) was homemade chocolate chip cookies; chocolate halo top; washed down with Delamain extra old cognac.

The long awaited black plate - nothing amazing yet. Maybe other shots will look “cooler”. The first plate I ordered was exactly like my bone-china white plate, except it was made of “Melamine”. Which upon finding that out, made me worried. So sent that back. This plate in the photo is part of a 16 piece set I got from Bed Bath & Beyond (had to order it online). It’s “stoneware”, so not as nice as “bone china” but decent.

That’s from a few days ago.

IMHO, I need to find a black plate exactly like my white one, bone china specifically … Something on that level. The cool thing about this set though, is some of the other stuff it contained: black bowls/coffee mugs/small plates/etc. The black bowls are nice, lol.

Anyway forget all of that… This pizza I had today was incredible. Fresh mozzarella + basil + sauce, chicken wings, and extra romano cheese. Was solid. Photos came out really nice too IMHO.

Are you hitting your minimum bulk number with 1 bag? Meaning 2,231? That seems low.

Or is it 4,462 that’s your minimum?

Tonight’s goal was to use food before it goes bad or before we have to move it cross-country. I’m trying to get our pantry empty before moving-time in May!
The crown jewel of tonight’s dinner was roasted-yellow-squash with aged cheddar crumbs. I seared the squash in a hot pan then finished it in the 375 oven for about 7 minutes with the cheese on-top.

I could have eaten another plate-full.

The rest of my meal (kids got ham, cheese, sweet potato quesadillas) was basmati rice, black beans, broccoli, and the aforementioned gourd. Less than an hour start to finish and less than $10 for the family of four. Oh, and leftovers, lots of beany leftovers.
