Food After Sports


I usually play sports (soccer, baskketball, badminton) post dinner during the week for a few hours. The thing is, I usually come back hungry after playing and don’t know what to eat. It’s usually pretty late already.

Should I stick to the standard slow digesting proteins? i.e skim milk, peanut butter, cottage cheese. or intake carbs as well?



I’d eat a big variety of moderate to slow digesting foods. As long as your recovery from these isn’t affecting your gym time that is.

I would eat carbs with the meal if you’re already lean. I would just stick to stuff like beans, whole wheat bread and stuff.

If you end up waking up hungry, then maybe you should eat slower digesting foods, but you can always go and fix that.
