Flexing maintains gains?

My brother is what you guys would call a soft body, he has the “frat boy” physique, mild six pack and your standard bicep only arm. However he told me something that surprised me, he hasnt worked out since he built that muscle (and were talking years ago).

He says before he goes to sleep he starts with his feet and works up to his head and flexes every muscle on the way up.

I realize that flexing muscles is taxing, hell I took some pictures for the race to 200 and was sore after!

So I guess my question is more just curiosity. Is this possible? Clearly flexing couldnt build muscle (at least not very much) but could it maintain gains? Would with the more muscle you add the less this work?
