Flaring and Tucking Elbows on the Bench

If one is lifting without a shirt. Should I still tuck the elbows on the way down and flare on the way up?

Yes, you just don’t tuck and flare as much. Your upper arm should be at ~45 degree angle to your body. Where that has you touch will vary based on torso length and arm length.
