Fish Oil Levels for Hormones?

I over heard some guys in the gym talking about certian levels of the dha or epa in fish oils for increase in hormone productivity.

Any truth to this? If so, Anyone know the levels?



Having a proper balance of fats (and this goes beyond just the major groups of SFA, MUFA, and PUFA) promotes proper body function, which hormone production is a part of. Regarding testosterone production, things like avoiding saturated fat or fat in general (which are generally advocated) are counterproductive. Consuming adequate amounts of fat and a proper balance of fat will maximize your testosterone production. This includes intaking a proper balance of EFAs (omega 3 and 6 fatty acids), which, given the foods generally available, is aided by consuming fish oil.
