Hello everyone,
My name is Kory and I have been reading T-Nation for a a few months now. I am so grateful for the amazing amount of information on this website. I was out of shape and fat all my life basically. I weighed 225lbs and was at like 30% body fat when I turned 20.
I decided to put an end to it halfway through my second year of college. I started playing some sports and hitting the gym with my silly roommates, who i thought knew something about lifting. I lost about 15lbs by the end of that semester, and decided to really take things seriously this summer. I read up on creating a diet (thank you Tampa Terry) and started doing Waterbury’s Total-body Training program. I have dropped to 180lbs and about 17% body fat.
My diet is sort of in order, I wake up at random times (i know its bad) but I try to get 5 meals in spaced a few hours apart everyday. I have a few questions about dieting.
I started using Olive oil and Flaxseed oil to get the 2/3 of fats in. What are some easy ways to get that in? For a little while I was doing shots of the stuff, which I didn’t find too pleasant. Now I mix it into a shake to try and make taste better. Which leads me to my next question.
When I make a shake, I usually throw in one or two scoops of Grow!, some milk, and like 2 or 3 fruits (a banana, some blueberries, chunks of pineapple, apples, etc.) Is it okay that I put that much fruit in? My mother had some stuff called Lecitin (i think) and said it’s good for fat loss, so I also throw that in, but I honestly don’t know anything about it.
I try to lift 3 times a week and do cardio 2 times also. it’s kind of funny, and kind of sad, seeing how bad all the advice I got throughout my life has been. The total body training is awesome. I never lifted like that before, but it’s a lot of fun. How long is it okay to stay on that kind of program? I’ve been doing it for like, 8 or 9 weeks now i think. I try to mix up the exercises and stuff, i’m not always just flat benching. Does that make it alright to stick with it?
Also, I see that new banner for the physique clinic, and I would love to submit pictures, stats, goals, etc. and be considered as a candidate. I think it’s a really good idea. When I click the link, a blank page comes up, does this happen for everyone?
It’s 3am now, and I should really get some sleep. This is why my sleep schedule is so terrible. I get thoughts stuck in my head, like writing my first post here, and can’t stop thinking until I get up and do it. Goodnight/morning…
