First Meet Tomorrow

the so called new york state bench champship is tommorow for the usapl, IFP rules. Im tring to decide whats me best choice for a opener i can triple 335 also double 345 both with no pauses and no reall struggle which would be a better opener .

i ussually work out at 3 in the afternoon this is taking place at 10 30 in the morning and as always i am unshirted at 235 pounds in the teen 18 to 19 years old

this being your 1st meet and the fact you don’t train w/ pauses, I would go with 300 paused. then make the jumps.

I agree, 300 sounds good, even if it’s easy, that’s the idea of an opener, you don’t want to bomb out of your first meet.

Good call on waiting until the day before your meet to decide on your openers.

It’s his first meet… Give the guy a break. 300 sounds like a good starting point.

i ended up with 355 pounds for my bench press raw and winning my teen for my weight class basically everyone else was shirted
and watched 5 500 plus lifter and one person who bench 600
