I am signing up for my first bench press competition. I have been lifting for several years but just this year decided to start lifting more like a powerlifter. I want to do something competitive again, even though I do not have a chance of placing.
Anyways, the meet is on March 10th. I will be competing in the 198 division. Just this week I was practicing benching with a pause because I had never really done that before with a max effort. I was able to press 315 with about a 3 second pause. I was just wandering if anyone had any advice on how my training should go for the next few weeks and when I get to the competition where I should start weight wise.
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated, thankx!
