I am experiencing an injury concentrated on one finger, my left hand index finger. There was no single event which injured it, I simply woke up one morning and could hardly bend it. It swells a very minor amount for about 2-3 days, then goes back to normal. Range of motion is limited while it is injured and there is pain when closing the hand. After 2-3 days it heals up, but then it returns once or twice a month, usually after a heavy OHP or Squat. I was advised to use a thumbless grip on both of these exercises, and that does seem to help some, but not 100%.
Has anyone else experienced something similar? What could the problem be? Any ideas on how to get it to heal completely?
I appreciate any help or suggestions.
