I want to do some reading on periodization in the NSCA research publications. I’d like to get a list of influential articles going. Can anyone remember any titles of studies off the top of their heads? Is it even worth while to look for this stuff in NSCA publications?
It seems like the only way the NSCA suggests periodizing is with the non linear method. I was reading an article called “Weightlifting: Program Design”. Does anyone know this article? Is it worthless or what?
I’ve been reading “Periodization Training for Sports” by Bompa. He keeps saying that olympic lifts don’t work the prime movers.
I don’t see how he can come to that conclusion. From the hang the movement is just like jumping. If olympic lifts don’t work the prime movers then how does the weight move from below the waist to the racked position?
