Filming Sessions Question

So I would like to buy a camera for filming my lifting sessions and I was curious what you guy use? I would like something relatively cheap. Thanks for the suggestions guys!

I got a FlipCamera HD a few years ago. The quality’s pretty good, but depending on the fluorescent lighting in your gym, it may appear washed out at times.

Thanks Stu, how much did that run you?

I just use my digital camera. It’s a Casio Exilim or something like that. It was around $100.

Maybe ~$100. Plugs in and charges with a USB port. Your computer will recognize it as a flash drive, and when you open it, every clip you film shows up as a separate file that you can then bring into editing software, trim, splice together and throw some music over. I have a few old training videos on youtube from past contest preps, and they were all done very quickly and easily with this cam and my laptop. Nothing fancy (my choice) but easily did what I wanted to.

Thanks for the responses guys. I would thinking more in the range of $30 to $40… I just would like something simple that shoots in HD.

Toshiba Camileo S20 you will need your own memory card. Look it up on ebay. Should be in the range you’re looking for. HD camera for 20-30 is going to be a used one or something super cheap.

I just use my cell phone. 32GB storage, full 1080P video if I want.

I phone.

Get a GoPro and strap it to your forehead. Then just lift in front of the mirror.

Haha, that was a good one!

I would tell you about the fantastic camera I bought new for under $40, but I don’t trust you not to use it to film pornos.

Something tells me Emily doesn’t sale her old cameras on Craig’s List!

OP, if you only want to spend in the 30-40 dollar range I think you should buy off Craig’s List if you want to get decent quality filming. I’m sure you can get a camera that retailed for 200 two years ago for 40 bucks.

I spent about 50 bucks o my panasonic hand-hold camera. Only complaint I have is that it does not have a decent tripod stand, and I waste heaps of time trying to get it to sit up right. I would of also preferred it to have a few more features with the timer, which would make it easier to use. Need to buy a decent size memory stick to go with it as well.

I used mine to shoot film of me training, and I am using it to shoot my documentary; “theBird. theDocumentary”. Hopefully I will up-grade to a better camera soon.

I have to say this thread was not what I thought it was about from reading the title.

Haha, trust me, no pornos, only my gym sessions. Seriously, could you name the camera?

Thanks for all the responses guys, I appreciate it!

Sorry, I was just messing with you. I couldn’t resist. I don’t have info about cheap cameras.
