OK, I know, I should eat more veggies, yadda, yadda. But sometimes I just can’t seem to get enough fiber in my food. As a result, my digestion is acting up a little bit.
I’m looking for a cheap, simple, lazy man’s way to just add more fiber to any food. What would you guys recommend for that?
Milled (ground) flax seed. Pretty cheap too. You can buy it at a health food store.
Flax seed, wheat germ, apples, broccoli, there are many intestinal helpers. If things are ‘moving a little slowly’ through your system, then maybe have a look at oxycleanse (google it) to assist cleaning the gut.
Also watch eating things like white bread and other foods that may give you “bung-hole”.
Milled Flax Seed is the answer you seek. It can be sprinkled on anything, really. If memory serves me corectly (been awhile since I bought some), I believe it has 3 grams of fiber per 2 TBSP serving. Also an excellent source of fat.

Available at Safeway and Albertson’s, but oddly enough, I found it to be cheaper at Rite Aid.
I add 3 tbls of milled flax seed and vegtable fiber powder to my oatmeal.

I second Fiber Choice. Their chewable pills taste like SweetTarts that aren’t too tart, but each pill has 2 gms of fiber. Very easy to take, and it’s almost like having a snack.
I like Fiber-sure. 5g in one tbsp. I was amazed how well it blends into liquids. I’ve put it in my water and it is completely tasteless. I would recommend it definitely.
In fact, I’m am so impressed with its ability to dissolve, I question how much of the fiber actually gets into your system. I would hope all of it, but it practically disappears, so it made me wonder. Anybody have any thoughts or knowledge on that?
Canned pumpkin has 5 grams of dietary fiber per serving, and not too much else. I just eat it plain, but im sure there is some good ways to make it taste really good.
You can also get Metamucil (or similar store brand) capsules, which are easy as could be to take. You just take five or six with a full glass of water. No mixing of anything.
