If you’re into metal I’d recommend looking into melodic death metal and/or thrash metal crossover bands (thrash/hardcore crossover).

For metal/rock I have a fairly comprehensive list of fat tunes. I’ll list some bands off the top of my head

Bands

  • while she sleeps (aside from newest album)
  • of mice and men
  • as I lay dying
  • bury tommorow
  • beartooth (hardcore punk, but close enough)
  • comeback kid (also hardcore punk)
  • hatebreed (hardcore punk again)
  • I killed the prom queen
  • bleeding through (metalcore/death metal crossover)
  • killswitch engage
  • The plot in you
  • Wage war
  • Crown The Empire
  • bad omens
  • Code Orange
  • a day to remember
  • architects

Then you’ve got thrash metal

  • deficiency
  • municipal waste (thrash/hardcore punk crossover)
  • toxic holocaust (thrash/speed/black metal)
  • slayer
  • exodus
  • Megadeath/metallica etc
  • lamb of god (metalcore/melodic death metal/thrash metal/groove metal). They started as “burn the priest” and have two albums under that name also worth checking out
  • Tremonti
  • annihilator
  • Venom
  • Sodom
  • ouroboros
  • sepultura
  • Anthrax
  • testament

Melodic death/death metal

  • in flames (early/mid albums)
  • dark tranquility
  • devildriver
  • obituary
  • cattle decapitation (grindcore/death metal)
  • six feet under
  • soilwork (this one is amazing)
  • death
  • entombed
  • deicide
  • deadlock
  • draconian
  • insomnium
  • ingested

For generalised rock/somewhat metal

  • black stone cherry
  • the lazys
  • motley crue
  • altar bridge
  • anything by slash
  • motor sister (more on the metal side)
  • deep purple (also more metal)
  • stoned Jesus (more metal/psychedelic rock/metal)

I’ve got tons more to recommend if you’re interested.

Thank you. Thrash was actually that got me into the scene. Many of the bands in this list are already familiar. I have been to wacken festival every year. Ofcourse exepct this year
I recommend looking into that. It’s held in germany. Around 100k vistors every year for an all out metal event. I will go trough your list and. Will try to write you mine back.

We have downloadfest here. That’s the festival I attend

Woot, metal! yeet

I got in through (shudders) nu metal at around the age of 6-7. Linkin Park, static X etc was my jam. Then it was thrash/metalcore, followed by everything.

Where abouts are you from i assume Australia or england? I have actually been to download once in australia 6 years ago. It was good fun

Straya! (Australia)

That’s exactly where I fall. Add ACDC, Airbourne, Whitesnake, Mr. Big (Paul Gilbert and Billy Sheehan!). I also gained a real love for the extremely talented guys from Steel Panther, their texts are meant funny and are partly gross but their skills as musicians are off the charts in my opinion.

I also love blues, Gary Moore is my all time fav guitar player.

Funny how a lot of us seem to be into rock and metal.

I have seen steel panther live twice. Those guys are really good. Full of energy.
Not that much blues but try to listen Gerry Rafferty and boz scaggs

Some of my favorites:
Diamond head
Black sabbath
David bowie
All them witches
Helmet
Danzig (all time favorite)

I saw them once and they are fantastic live. Crazy how good they sound.
