Feherty: Soldiers Would Shoot Pelosi
Big_Boss wrote:
Regardless if Feherty was using a spin on a classic joke,it was still bad taste. Besides, what makes him think that the majority of disgust soldiers have is directed at Pelosi and Reid?? I call bullshit on that. There was nothing tasteful about alluding to violence against our politicians…regardless if you dislike there political views, affiliations, etc.

I agree that is was distasteful. At the same time it was funny. He was not being degrading in any way and was simply using a questionable joke to get his point across. I don’t think an apology was necessary for this.

Agreed.

You clearly are unaware of the entire statement and the context in which it was made. Yes, you could make the argument that our country was already “failing”, but Bush did not come out with a socialist agenda. Had he made clear some of his intentions 4 or 8 years ago, many of us would have said we hope he fails. I very much wish he would have failed at expanding the size of government and increasing government spending, among many other more detailed things that I don’t wish to discuss at the moment. Obama has clearly stated what he wants to do, and Rush has stated that he wants him to fail at this.

You can’t condemn double standards by falling into them yourself by trying to justify which “joke” was more “harmful” or actually funny. Just saying.
I never made an issue over which jokes was more harmful or funnier. I only questioned whether Sykes was actually making a joke. Her comments could be infered as serious statements by a reasonable person, Feherty’s could not.

Dude…I enjoy your contributions here, but broken record.

If Nasty Pelosi truly loved this country and really cared what happens here, she would commit suicide so that we could be rid of her stupidity!

Yes I mean it, no I am not joking, I think the woman is exactly that vile. The is as nice as I can be when it comes to her.

i don’t like repeating myself but i feel compelled to when i see logical fallacies.

I think as private citizens,we have a right to criticize the critical. Limbaugh is step beyond being a “private citizen” per say…admit it or not,he’s in the political limelight. He’s open to same criticisms. But,Syke’s joke was bad taste as well. I didn’t find it funny…just as I really don’t find Sykes funny to begin with. I am surprised there hasn’t been any apologies.
Absolutely true. This private citizen crap is silly. Initially, the attacks on Joe the Plumber were out of line, but afterwards when you’re being paraded around like a prize rooster by the likes of Hannity, you’ve transformed yourself into a public figure. I also agree that Sykes has never been funny. Christ, Garafolo is funnier. Hell, Carrot Top is funnier.
AND as if it hasn’t been discussed enough: Its one thing to wish that a Presidential candidate fails at becoming president…but to say you wish an actual elected U.S. President to fail is fucking stupid. Fail at whose expense?? Exactly. You’d have to be a moron to believe that Obama can fail as president without it having a detrimental effect on our country. This is not Saddam and Iraq. Its not like we would be “liberated” if Obama fails. Besides, our country has been “failing” before Obama was even taken serious as a presidential candidate.
I’m still on the fence about this one. I don’t want bigger government. I already decided not to re-enlist because I won’t fight for a socialist nation. That said, Obama failing as POTUS would probably be bad - I think you’re right. Would it be more appropriate to say that, “I hope Obama succeeds, but his policies fail”?

Ahhh… who gives a fuck what this guy says? He’s got a political agenda like everyone else. I don’t give two shits what some soldier says about politics- the fact that they’re there and I’m here means dick relative to intelligence or the worth of one’s opinion.

Yea, sure, that’s appropriate as long as you also follow the statement with, " And I have no conception of logic or how to construct a rational argument."

Agreed, I wish harm on politicians all the time. It may make me sound awful, but I was cheering on Kennedy’s trip to hell. I would have a party if Pelosi slipped in the shower or something.

Many of us have varying interactions and relationships with the governement. Losing an election isn’t a simple matter of me not getting to play with my toys. It isn’t the fact that I have to deal with some jerk’s face on every paper in the country. I see people who have made decisions that have directly impacted my life in ways that were out and out criminal. I often talk about the gun thing and I’ll bring it out again. Most of the types of firearms I own have at one point been illegal. CYA: (I didn’t have them while they were illegal) When a politician votes to make those same guns illegal again, they are putting me in a position where they are willing to use men with guns to come to my home and take me away from my family.

Am I supposed to just scratch my head and wait for a new hope and change fairy to give me my rights back? “Don’t Tread on Me” doesn’t end with “or I’ll not vote for you again.” If you are coming for my rights, I may well not have to guts, or find the situation proper to do violence, but that does not mean that I have to just see politicians as players in a game rather than genuine enemies who deserve justice, even if that is something like a heart attack.

How so? If Obama never got anything passed causing the economy to recover that’d be a successful presidency in my book.

True enough. How many people joked (and still joke) that Dick Cheney ought to be tarred, feathered, and hanged, with nary a peep from the press?

Oh, and dHickey… no armor-piercing ammunition would be needed. Regular 7.62 M80 ball fired at point-blank range will easily punch through three bodies, with enough energy to inflict lethal damage on all three. And you could save the other cartridge for later.

Hell at close range my benchmade would work very quickly.

Reasons don’t matter, what happens matters. Me a few years back. Kind of a take on the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

I he fails with his policies, but the country does better because he didn’t get his way, I would be happy. The only way he will succeed is by failing. the only way he will fail is if ge succeeds.

A hunting point would go through the trhee also at that distance. Try a 165 gr Hornady Light Mag. 2880 fps.
