Feel Like Myself on Levothyroxine

Hey guys, so I don’t have hypothyroidism but when I took a couple of T4 pills, I felt SO much better. I’ve had pretty major depression, fatigue, and no sex drive for over two years. and when I popped a T4, boom, I felt like myself again. I’ll let you know that I’ve tried just about every antidepressant and none of them have worked for me. Now I’ve only taken levothyroxine once and I don’t plan on continuing to use it, but why does it make me feel so much better? Here are my thyroid levels for reference.

F T4,Free(Direct) 0.95 0.93-1.60 (ng/dL)
F Triiodothyronine (T3) 90 71-180 (ng/dL)
F TSH 1.240 0.450-4.500 (uIU/mL)

Your TSH should be under 1. so you’re a little high there. If you feel great, why stop?

This thread is one of many and I will not seek and read to know what has gone on earlier. We need context to do thing properly.

  • TSH should be nearer to 1.0

  • T3, T4, fT3, fT4 should be nearer to midrange and this appears to be your problem.
