Favorite protein shake?

Alright, let’s hear some good protein shake recipes! What’s everyone’s favorite?

Actually I just tried Low-Carb Vanillar Grow and Diet Barqs Root Beer. Not bad

My favorite is what I like to call the Fat Bastard shake. Recipe as follows:

1 pint cottage cheese
50 grams chocolate protein powder
1/4 to 1/2 cup peanut butter
1 banana
enough milk to make it all blend

I usually only make this one when I’m bulking. And let me tell you, it does make you bulk.

every morning for breakfast:

Low Carb GROW
4-5 frozen strawberries
.5 cup oatmeal

optional during the day…

Low Carb GROW
hersheys cocoa (for extra chocolatey-ness)
1TB peanut butter

or…

((peanut brittle shake))
Low Carb GROW
1 packet sugar free butterscotch Jell-O pudding
1 TB peanut butter

3 scoops choc LC Grow! with 2 tbs almond butter. Ummmmmm…

What I do is use a fruit juice extractor and make some tasty juice. I’ll use kiwi, strawberries, blueberries, even bananas. Then instead of using water i mix 1 scoop of vanilla Grow and 1 scoop of chocolate grow. It’s awesome in my opinion but who knows what everyone else may think. Oh yah I add a little whip cream to it.

Everyday for lunch I have this:

  1. 250 ml skim milk
  2. Scoop of protein powder (vanilla)
  3. Cut up frozen banana (I pre-freeze them in bulk).

Has about 30 g of protein and 300 calories. It could be heavier on the protein but it’s very tastey!

Here’s my low carb shake:

1.5 cups water
1/2 cup fat free cottage cheese
1 scoop Low Carb Grow, chocolate
1 tbsp flax oil
1 or 2 tbsp olive oil
1 packed artificial sweetener
2 tbsp peanuts (that’s right, no need to buy expensive natural peanut butter; just throw peanuts in the blender, it’s the same damn thing)

Delicious!

about 37g protein, 620 cal (I’m not sure of the nutritional values of the peanuts)

One question:

Anyone know how to get rid of all the foam?! My p+c shake (skim milk, 1scoop Classic Grow, 1/2c oatmeal, banana) turns out to be about 1/2 foam after I blend it, and is almost impossible to drink for at least an hour. Any tips?

Here was one of my favorites, from when I wanted to put on some weight:

1 frozen banana
1 tbsp natural peanut butter
1 tbsp honey
Whey protein
Skim milk

The frozen banana makes it thick and creamy. It’s realy good.

Patman, that’s probably from the ion-exchange whey in your shake, it foams up a lot when you blend it. Can’t think of much you can do, unfortunately. I know this sounds weird, but you could try adding a little Gas-X, it might break the surface tension of the bubbles a little.

Thanks Kim. I guess that makes sense.
