Favorite Anabolic Diet Meals...

Thought it would be nice to have a forum that gave others good ideas for good meals when on the anabolic diet. I just started the diet and am having trouble not getting bored with the foods I've been eating. Being on a college budget doesn't help but oh well.

Here's my favorite... Breakfast!

4 Whole Eggs - Cheese - Bacon (all scrambled together)

two sausage patties...

What do you guys have?

Sounds like the Atkins diet, lol, just throw in some low-carb butter, and you're all set, lol

Lol,or maybe some bacon fat with it.

I don't really have recipe's on account of not really knowing how to cook, however, here's a random list of junk I find useful:

  1. mexican style hot tomato sauce. I like the hernandez( I think that's the brand) and el pato. They make several different kinds, some hotter then others, some chunkier, and they're all pretty low carb. Hard to eat alot of the stuff.

  2. Wheat bran. It's pretty sweet, kind of reminds me of homemade bread.

  3. Cut wedges of citrus to flavor things.

  4. Tabasco sauces and other hot sauces. Jalepeno salt is pretty good too. Pick a couple of the large size seasonings that Sam's Club has. That'll help with all the meat I'm sure you'll be eating.

  5. One thing I do eat quite a bit of is a can of tuna, about a cup, maybe two of green beans from the Giant Sam's club can, a tiny dollop of miracle whip tossed together. A spoonful of olive oil and salt and pepper and it's good to go. Eat that, or something similar every night before bed. Tonight it was tuna, olive oil and wheat bran.

I know I've added other stuff to the AD thread and I'll add it if I find it. Also, I saw there was a recipe on a box tonight I'll likely post tomarrow.

Good thread idea, by the way.

My favorite Anabolic Diet breakfast:

olive oil
3 or 4 scrambled whole eggs
Frank's Red Hot Sauce
1/2 can of spinach
a good amount of salmon (canned)
black pepper
crushed onion powder

all mixed together on a stovetop pan. you're looking at 30-40g of protein, some fiber, and plenty of healthy fats. this keeps me going for hours.

My favorite Anabolic Diet dessert:

sugar free jello with low carb whipping cream (even better if you can find the 0 carb variety).

My Favorite Anabolic Diet quick snacks:

  1. cut a slice of cheese from my 4 pound hunk of cheddar cheese in the fridge

  2. grab a handful of whole olives

OLIVES! Good idea. Love olives. Definitely gonna add that to the mix.

hey, i'm glad you liked the olives idea. it works for me, too.

I think somebody recommended this one somewhere in the huge AD thread:

spray some Whipped Heavy Cream into a bowl, and top it off with some whole flax seeds. correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe that counts as a zero-carb dessert, either because the carbs in the flax are all fiber or because the whole seeds are not digested (or both?). i've used this one in a pinch before.

another quick snack (if you might notice, i'm really into quick snacks...i eat something about 12 times a day) would be a spoonful of natural peanut butter. two tablespoons come to 4g of carbs, discounting fiber.

Two big tablespoons of natural peanut butter mixed with 4-6oz of chicken. Helps with the bland chicken taste.

That was about as un-funny as it gets.

You ever have the green olives with the blanched almond sitting inside, oh man... oh man! drool

Coconut, btw, is almost all fat. It holds me down great in the mornings. I think it's also the only fruit, besides olives, which is squeezed directly for virgin oil.

A shake with whey, tbsp cocoa power, strong coffee, bit of water, shake of stevia and 2-3tbsp of unwhipped heavy whipping cream. Oh and ice!

Tastes just like an iced cappacino!!

Dude, I don't care if I never get below 15% BF, you have for EVER convinced me not to do the Anabolic Diet.

shudder olive oil, wheat bran, and tuna!?

gah, I need at LEAST sardines and rye crisps....

1 large can tuna
1 box frozen spinich (thawed overnight)
3 Tbls Olive oil
1 tsp worchesteshire sauce
1 - 2 tsp your favorite Curry Powder (to taste)
1/8 tsp hot pepper flakes
2 Tbls lemon juice
Salt & Pepper to taste

Drain tuna. Take a cloth (old t-shirt or wash cloth) and drain spinich by squeezing out as much liquid as possible inside the cloth. Mix all ingredients together and let sit for an hour or so to let flavors set.

I eat it in a Romain lettuce wrap with some good hard aged cheese and some large green spanish olives. Usually makes two servings;-)

Breakfast most mornings:
3 eggs over easy
2 pcs turkey bacon
1 slice cheese
in a low-carb pita pocket

Protein Shake:
3/4C Hood choc carbcountdown
1 scoop Metabolic Drive
1 Tbsp heavy cream
1 Tbsp ground flax seeds
1/8C walnuts

Last meal before bed (protein pudding):
3/4C Hood choc carbcountdown
1 scoop chocolate Metabolic Drive
1 Tbsp peanut butter
1 Tbsp heavy cream
(28/7/17 + 1 Tbsp fish oil)

Dinner most nights:
some sort of meat or fish
some sort of veggie sauteed in olive oil and garlic

Anyone have a link to some more recipies?

I like the sugar free jello when I want something sweet, with whip cream on top.

same here. it's great to have a huge bowl of jello and whip cream and not have to be worried at all about calories or carbs.

here's a bit of a variation on the old jello routine, i think of it as sugar-free jello pie:

4 packets of sugar free jello
2 scoops of unflavored whey protein
2 packets of plain gelatine

Mix this all together in a bowl. Add 2 cups of boiling water. Stir. Pour into a square baking pan. Stick in the fridge. In 20-30 minutes, voila! Sugar-free jello pie. I prefer to top it off with whipping cream.

did i say square pan? opps...i meant round pan, for the pie-effect.

one other quick snack that works for me--cream cheese. it's like 90% calories from fat and zero carbs.

Man I get bad cholesterol by just reading this thread! :slightly_smiling: Good luck with the diet boys!
