Consider stair master without letting your heels touch, if you want to work your calves.

A lot of great exercises get totally ruined by people (even otherwise good coaches) who try to “improve” on an exercise.
Excuse me, I didn’t mean “the toes”, my english is just not so good. I meant the front part of the foot, that part you’re standing on during calf raises.
That’s the toes, you were correct and it’s still a bad idea
