Ok folks its been awhile since I put anything on here other than how I beat the crap out of myself lol. I dont remember if I put it in my first log but I’m not doing “barbel yoke” walks last time I miss steped ate shit and jacked up my left quad and some tendon behind my knee, it now feels 100%. So im tring to save up for a proper yoke. Trying to find time build some loadable concrete farmers handles, their base weight would be 200lbs unless I add some pig iron before they set. Here in the next month or two the little hole in the wall gym I’ve been working for will be open a “health/ supplement” store,so 3 full days a week I’ll be running the gym and health shop. Im kinda assessing my pressing and lowering fridays volume to to severe elbow pain and hands going numb mid workout lol, today was way better.Squats have been great, the gym owner was a powerlifter and has been watching my depth! I was gonna compete in californias strongest man comp. LW but even though I called 2 months in advance the dastardly fellows were booked full! But Im hopeing to enter
Cen Cal Strongman Challenge!!! And maybe Im a little ambitious but Im confident I can place to go to Nationals!!! The only thing that makes me a little stressed is leaving my mom and grandma :confused:

edit: the last couple of weeks I tweaked my back …again…hence the light deads uuugghhh but on the bright side even with it tweaked im still getting stronger last time it was this bad i was relegated to doing deads in the low 300’s so if only i can get to the low 500’s injured and I might be happy…who am I kidding I’ll never be satisfied lol!

If you’re looking for an economic option, you could build a chain yoke. Just needs a pipe, some chain, and some DIY loading pins. Otherwise, you could buy the spud “swing set straps” which you can clip onto a barbell or axle and make a chain yoke with.

OTHERWISE, probably the cheapest yoke on the market is the Pitbull economy yoke. You gotta order off the guy’s facebook page (and really your best bet is to just text him), but it’s just about $300. It wobbles, it’s cheap, but it’s solid. I’ve loaded over 800lbs on mine and it held great. Others have walked it out with 1000+

THAT said, buying a higher quality yoke is also a great idea, and many of them can function as power racks as well. Rogue makes an awesome one.

notes: Okay , i think i figured out part of my deadlift problem, at lunch I read an article by eric cressay on lifting with an injured low back.One thing that hit home was lifting before you spine dehydrates, which is what I’ve been doing for the last month or 2(right when I started running into low back prob again) barely 30 min from waking up im going right into my first work out. Whereas I used to be up and about for a few hours before deadlifting( When I was making my best progress). This evening when I went into deadlifts expecting it to be sub par was great!So Im thinking early morning deads will be light to get things going and in the evening going HEAVY! But still have to be careful til I heal as close to 100% as I get.
Also, the Sled deadift-rows are kinda strange, Im setup like a deadlift but as I pull its in sorta J bar path. It starts out straight but as I stand up the tension curves up, not like a strict row where the plain of motion is strictly horizontal.

edit: in the a.m my 3rd rep on 450 felt like a knife was being stabbed between my lower vertebrae!
