Farmer Walks

I know they are called farmer walks but if the gym i go to is paaacked could i just walk like 5 feet then stop and hold it then walk back or do u always have to walk

Guess there is no harm in walking on the spot, or forwards and backwards in whatever space you have. If you are doing them just for grip then static holds will work fine - just pick up a heavy BB or DBs and hold them for as long as you can till your grip fails.
