Falling Backwards in the Squat

Is falling backwards when doing a bodyweight squat an indication of a weak posterior chain?

most of the times it is inflexibility or balance problems, bodyweight squats can’t really be compared to a barbell squat because the center of gravity changes with the barbell. It might also be that you lower in the ‘wrong’ way opposed to the barbell squat, given you don’t have the same problem there.
