Extreme Girl Talk 2.0 -- Bras

Speaking of sports bras and those support tanks…Am I the only one that can’t stand wearing both at once? The support tanks never seem to give quite enough, but the two combined are just way too much. But maybe its just because I don’t do anything that really requires much compression.[/quote]

I’ve got nothing much to support, but I don’t like tanks with built in bras – too constricting. My go-to outfit is a sports bra and a tank with no “shelf” bra or insert of any kind.

victoria secret has become low qual and trashy IMO… at least the store I went to in Milwaukee was in January. This place was great though an I found some nice fitting things…VERY good quality and Comfortable!!! for the small boobed wide lat womenz:

Thought I’d update here. I checked out Aerie and they had some nice stuff and decent size selection (most combos of 32-38 AA-DD), and you could try on the styles and sizes that were only available online. I still didn’t have any luck there though.

I also checked out target and really liked this:
http://www.target.com/Gilligan-OMalley-Lace-Gel-Bra/dp/B002FIEBDM/ref=br_1_6?ie=UTF8&node=13768211&searchSize=30&searchView=grid3&searchPage=1&sr=1-6&qid=1300924053&rh=price%3A1500-2499|target_com_brand-bin%3AGilligan%20%26%20O'Malley&searchBinNameList=style_name%2Ctarget_com_size-bin%2Ctarget_com_primary_color-bin%2Cprice%2Ctarget_com_brand-bin&searchRank=salesrank&frombrowse=1

Not as cheap as some of the other stuff they have, but really soft and comfy with enough padding to keep nips from showing, but not so much that it adds like 3 cup sizes. It’s nearly identical to the VS bra I liked, but it actually fits and is about half the price.

I never would have thought that I would have the best luck at Target.

I’ve completely given up on finding a “quality bra” and now just try on all the ones on clearance at stores like Fred Meyer and Target until something sticks.

On another note, has anyone experienced their boobs changing size once a month? Mine fluctuate by up to a cup-size and a half (34A 3 weeks 34C for 3 days)! This also makes bra shopping a challenge.

6th grade health class taught us that our special time of the month can cause fluctuations in breasticle size.

do those three days happen to fall during your womanly week?

You go up two cup sizes every month? Umm. No. That doesn’t happen to me.

Nope. No change in cup size, unless I’m pregnant or nursing.

Then it’s porn star boobs.

That’s what I was trying to imply without being direct.

It’s literally very noticeable. I always get excited and convince myself that they’re growing again only to face another 3 weeks of tiny boobage.

So the first was normal. This is during that time.

So seriously there’s not one other woman on here that this happens to?

honestly I’ve seen a difference when I’m on or off the pill, but other than that no. You probably have very high levels of estrogen around that time.

I think you like showing your boobs.

what was the question again?

I see some fluctuation if “the time” is near, I’m on the Pill, or my weight has changed but its really only a matter of how well I fill my cups. I’ve been an A regardless of whether I was at 110 or 150.

who cares?

Boobs changing size around time of month.

buckeye girl- Mine changed a lot when I was on birth control too. That stuff also made me beyond depressed. Perhaps it’s just an abnormally high hormone sensitivity.

MiM- lol. I posted those because I’ve met disbelief in real life and this is the one place I can hypothetically rip my shirt off and prove it.

My 2 cents: I don’t really like the fit of VS bras. I do like Maidenform. Lots of different types, but I think the one I like best is the “t-shirt” bra (although I could be making that up). They also have outlet stores and sometimes you can find them at a Marshalls or TJMaxx if you’re looking for cheap.

I won’t wear those compression shirts or bra tops alone. Actually, I don’t wear them period. I just don’t feel it’s enough; I also hate the idea of people seeing my nipples through my shirt. On another note, regarding the dreaded sports bra uniboob, I may or may not have been hooking up with a gym friend when he said, “Oh, you actually have nice breasts. What do you wear at the gym?” Hah! I believe the answer to that is: “the thing most women who go to the gym to actually workout wear.”

Yeah my boobs swell up sometimes and they hurt. It’s usually if I’ve been less than judicious with the carbs. I blame it on water retention. When I eat more Paleo it tends not to happen. I don’t use the pill - never have.

Cal- I had THE MOST horrendous PMS in my life a couple weeks ago(almost thought I was knocked up!!)
And I realized that I had been eating a lot of crap during the time Hubby was home.

interesting…

Oleena- just giving you a hard time!

I went up a cup size from the pill – the only side effect.

My bras are cheap and shitty because it never occurs to me “Hey, let’s go bra shopping!” but I do have one Victoria’s Secret push-up bra that I cherish. So comfy.

i got sick of uniboob so decided to go back to underwire with distinct cups.

gone from 34 C / D to 32 B. wtf??? my last fitting was before i started training. but, um, you’d think i’ve have grown lats or something to make my back a bit thicker. maybe i’ve lost more flab than i had supposed…
