This article is dead-on right. I’m 48 and been lifting for 35 years. The advice and tips given couldn’t be more accurate. I’ve had to learn the hard way what Thibaudeau said in one sentence…

“If you want to continue progressing, do your best to stay healthy and injury-free.”

Good article. I get better results with medium weights regardless of injury risk. Even at a younger age it was like that.

I like the 50 to 70% range on 1 rep max. It works for me and 8 to 20 reps.
