'Except on the West Coast...'

Everytime I watch NFL football on Sundays, the announcers usually say something like ‘stay tuned for 60 Minutes after the game, except on the West Coast.’ So, what exactly is shown on the West Coast if 60 Minutes or whatever show isn’t coming on?

I assume it’s local news, infomercials, paid programming, etc, but I’ve always wondered what exactly was shown.

If any of the West Coast brethren can provide some insight, it would be much appreciated.

Time zone difference?

Usually infomercials or reruns of something syndicated.

Sucks to be y’all.

Let’s see, a typical Sunday on CBS affiliate KPIX in the San Francisco Bay Area. Well, yesterday the Dolphins game began around 11 AM local time. So that goes on for a few hourse.
60 minutes doesn’t come on until 7PM local time (10PM EST).
So, between the time the game ends and 60 minutes is on there is about 5 hours…during which time there is a bunch of free porn.

Sweet. I’m moving.

We’re West Coast people…we care not about 60 minutes…unless of course the show is about US this week!!

i think California’s a little overrated.

its cool dont get me wrong. but people act like its a whole different world which it really isnt well maybe if youre coming from middle/southern america it is.

I agree with you 100%…that’s why I’m moving away very shortly…can’t take it here anymore

Are you bitter that we’re too cool for your time zone? How dare we delay our primetime programing until it’s actually dark outside.

dont talk to me about darkness. do you know what time it gets dark in MA? 4 o’fucking clock …ok its like 5 right now but thats cause we’re only in November.

we just got out of a two week slump of grayness. its been like 2 or 3 days with actual sunshine (amazing) and im guessing in 2 or 3 more days itll be gray again.

California is definately better than Boston…its actually cheaper too. you guys have great weather and some alright beaches but thats really it oh and when i was in LA i saw at least 10 Bentleys a day.

Hollywood is pretty cool though.

Weather here sucks right now!! I live in inland San Diego and it’s been over 95 almost every day for 3 damn months…I’m ready for some frickin. snow!!!

What kind weather were you expecting San Diego?

like 75 most of the time…last 2 years here have been very hot…more so than usual…and I’ve lived here for 39 of my 45 years

Haha I forgot about how early it gets dark up there. It’s been a few years now.

No. Boston was the coolest place I’ve lived, and I’ve lived all over the country. I’d move back in a heartbeat if I had the chance.

Well, no shit. You live in Texas. I can think of 49 states better than that place.

been around the world and I I I IIIII

i been playa hated

youre right i havent been there long enough to give a detailed description. California is a huge state like 100x bigger than MA, way better weather which i already said. but you interact with people out there too and theyre way different than in Boston, idk people are just weirder out there. Hollywood and LA are the only memorable places i embarked on foot.

the weirdest thing there though to me being from Boston is that everyone there using crosswalks and waits for lights to turn etc. people here just walk across the street at their leisure and make cars stop for them. but like i said, Cali is still a cool place way cooler than MA but they just make it seem like its this whole other world where everyone is so smart and great because there used to be a lot of hippies and now theres a lot of wannabe hippies. theres definately a smug factor there which is one of the biggest reasons i dont really love the place.
