Eric Cressey's Deadlift

Not meaning to hijack the thread, but I am getting help from Shawn Frankl at the moment through a mutual friend. I deadlift convo, and am fast off the floor, ewak at lockout. The main thing he yells at me about is to keep the chest up and “get under the weight” once I get it past my knees. Everything is individual, though. There is no cure all deadlift technique tip. Just lots of trial and error.[/quote]

I think I know what you are talking about. I recently made a form change and went from fast off the floor and weak lockout to what feels slower (don’t think it really is) off the floor and a strong lockout, just by thinking patient knees and trying to pull back and extend the hips off the floor. It feels slow to start, but I don’t think the bar speed is actually slower it’s just there isn’t as much extra and inefficient body movement from me letting my hips go up too fast. It definitely puts me in a better position to lockout once the bar passes my knees.

His back is thick as hell. He doesn’t have big arms, so what.
